  • 502 patients took triphasic oral estradiol (1-2MG) +/- norethisterone acetate
  • 504 patients took placebo​
  • ​​longest oral estradiol study (> 10 years)
  • ​study terminated at 10.1 years after the findings of the Women's Health Initiative were released

    • no increase in heart disease
    • reduced cardiovascular risk
